I have 30 more lbs to lose until goal but I can't stop the night binging! I get up at 5:45 and workout then all day I eat fantastic. As soon as the kids are in bed I crave some wine and junk! WHY???????????? I tell myself I won't but then I end up binging. Last night I had 1/2 bag of chips and chocolate. What is wrong with me and any ideas how I can stop sabotaging myself!????
Thanks so much!

Would it be possible for you to save some calories to have a treat at night? Maybe if you didn't feel like it was "forbidden" you could moderate your choices?0

Try forcing yourself to drink 16 oz. of water first and then wait 10 minutes before you decide if you are going to eat or drink anything else.
Also, you can have healthy, low cal snacks on hand that don't require prep on those days you need something.
And, heh, a glass of wine, you could do much worse. You don't always have to be perfect! :-)0 -
It's difficult to say without being able to look at a typical day for you, but maybe you need to start portioning in some "treats" occasionally? If I NEVER eat chips I'm much more likely to down the whole bag than if I allow myself a serving once or twice a week. (I actually exercised one day SPECIFICALLY so I could have cheese with dinner. Nothing good can come of denying myself cheese!)
If you like dark chocolate, ghirardelli bittersweet chocolate chips are pretty tasty. 1 serving is 80 calories, so it's not as calorie-blowing as some other chocolate out there.0 -
I have a jelly around 21:00 but thats within my calories. just try to spare some if you know your going to get hungry at night.0

Try brushing your teeth and rinsing with mouthwash when you put the kids to bed. Who wants to eat when their teeth are already clean? Also continue to drink water until bed time. This will help keep you full. You might also be starving yourself throughout the day. If you're not getting enough calories throughout the day your body will crave things at night.0

There are about a thousand flavors of sugarless gum out there. (There were three when I was a kid), Try a couple of sticks of gum. The sweet is there. It may not be chocolate, but it's sweet.
We've discovered Nutella. you can have a tsp for 100 cals. spread on a 45 cal piece of bread it's filling and satisfies that need for chocolate.0 -
I have the same problem./ I'm up and down in recovery from Eating Disorder Not OTherwise Sepcified (meaning that my mental patterns and actions meet the criteria for anorexia and bulimia, but physically, im "normal"). I eat fine during the day, I workout 4x per week, usually doing an hour of cardio and 30 mins to an hour of weight training, and i cant stop eating at night. I'll sit in front of the fridge, eating chicken, yogurt, peanut butter, leftovers. It hasnt caused an issue with weight gain yet but I don't want to get to that point and it would be nice to feel in control.
Btw, I noticed that someone mentioned the "forbidden food" concept. Read "Intuitive Eating" --- It discusses that topic at length and agrees that if you dont police yourself and allow yourself to eat what you want, as much as you want (in moderation), then you will no longer crave it as much. Though it's much easier said than done. I still cant buy peanut butter, myself lol0
