Silly question

Okay I know it's a relatively dumb question but I don't need sarcastic responses. It's a two parter..... If I follow the MFP and only eat within my calories will I still lose weight no matter what those calories are made up of? For instance, if I ate a healthy breakfast and lunch but then maybe had a cheeseburger for dinner but still stayed within my calorie goal will it still work? Yes. I'm aware it's not the way to go but it's just a question.
