Hey Doc, why don't you answer the question instead of belittling her. Most of us are here for encouragement and advice - we don't need any kind of negativity.
I haven't had it or looked into it myself, however I have heard great things about it from my health junkie friends.0 -

Yeah, seems like a lot of wise a's have been posting lately.
I think it can be good for you OP but like everything in moderation.. personally I use both coconut water and milk when I make rice.. Jamaican cooking thing. That is the only time I use it and even then, its very sparingly.0 -

Why are you attacking me?0 -
I think it's mostly a fad - but hydration is good!0

I wasn't attacking you at all. I simply stated that facts - there is no use for negativity and belittling here.0

it's awesome stuff. i'm a huge fan. frankly anything that comes from a coconut is perfection in my book0 -
I love coconut water too! I drink about 8oz after long runs because of it's electrolytes....and the little sugar gives me some energy back. Many claim it to be a "health food". I think it's a great alternative to sports drinks, sodas and juices!0

I love the taste of coconut everything! Used to make a lot of Thai dishes with coconut milk in them but cut back on that because the milk supposedly packs a lot of cholesterol. Coco water is great for after /during Workouts however!0

I use it in lieu of sports drinks like Gatorade on my long rides and such. It is great for hydration and replenishing electrolytes. I think as a matter of it being a "health tonic" at the moment...that's just a fad...but it has been used for quite a long time by athletes and the like for replenishing electrolytes and hydrating.
Plus, it's like drinking and island...delicious.0
