Hi everyone! I just started using a HRM and after doing lots of research on all the HRMs out there, I settled on the Polar FT40. So far I love it, but it seems that I am burning more calories than I originally thought! My usual daily routine consists of: 30-40 minutes Elliptical (using HRM), 15 minutes weight training (no HRM), 10 minutes running (using HRM). My issue is that I burn lots more calories according to the HRM while running after lifting than on the elliptical. While this may seem intuitive to most people, I feel that the increased calorie burn may be an after effect of weight training since I don't feel that I am exerting myself more than when I am on the elliptical trainer. If anyone out there has some insight they'd like to share, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
