calories vs protein

I am new to this and have been trying very hard to stick to my daily goals but I find it SO hard to stay within my protein. I always seem to go over on my protein and also fiber. Should I worry? Is it OK?

A diet that is consistently high in protein can eventually cause kidney damage, but we're talking extreme diets with hundreds of grams of protein. As,long as you get some carbs in there, you should be OK. Just make sure you drink enough water.

MFP sets the protein level low, anyway. Don't worry about going over.

^^This. Look at MFP's protein goal (and fat goal, for that matter) as Minimums. Try to reach those minimums every day - MFP does set the protein a little low. I think it sets fats too low, too. If I try to stay at the default setting of fats, I start to have skin, nail, and hair problems, and it affects my thinking if I go too low on fats.

*edit to say - Going over on fiber is a good thing, too. It means you're getting a lot of vegetables, some fruit, and whole grains probably.

    Protein and fibre are minimums.
