Elementary School Teachers

Any Elementary school teachers out there looking for a motivating friend? Post here and we can add each other. I teach 1st grade and I know I need some motivation some days to not hit the vending machine or the office candy bowl when it's a stressful day.

I teach at an elementary school in Japan one day a week. Usually the kids see me and say "wow, you're huge!" cos Im a 190cm (6'3") tall guy and pretty big, and admittedly huge by Japanese standards. So thats par for the course for me and Ive gotten used to it. But yesterday, two different 3rd graders asked me, "Hey, haven't you lost weight?" Made my day :)

I am a music teacher at an elementary school. I def. know what you mean about avoiding the teaching lounge. There are always goodies in there. My biggest problem in relation to school has to do with when I get home. I am so exhausted from dancing and singing all day that I feel like eating ALL NIGHT. It's a comfort thing I think...

I'm a Kindergarten Teacher in Southern California.
This is my 14th year teaching. Most of those years have been spent teaching K and 1st grade, but I also taught 2nd one year, 4th one year, and 5th one year. I really love K and 2nd most of all.

My students no longer get uneasy when we read the word "fat."
This year, when we first blended the word "fat," a boy in my class said, "Like Ms. XYZ is fat!" (Ms. XYZ is my partner teacher). HAHA. It was great!! She keeps complaining that she's gained so much weight but yet a box of donuts sits on her desk. Whatever.
  • ME me me me! I am an art teacher at an Elementary School but I also have another bachelors in ECE so YES! Would love fellow teacher friends.
