So I have PCOS, and have found many people on here that suffer as well, but they are still in their weight loss journey and figuring things out. I'm one of the few who has PCOS but ISNT overweight - never was. I'm fairly toned in the arms/ legs but with PCOS (naturally higher testosterone compared to estro. and progest. hormones) I tend to carry fat on my love handles and belly only.
Any other women out there who has PCOS and successfully toned their middle area? I just want to see and know if my goal is really possible even with PCOS. Maybe I just need to make my diet stricter? Maybe more cardio? I currently weight lift for my workouts.

<~~ has PCOS. carried most of my weight in my belly. Lost 60+ lbs and have been maintaining for over 6 months now. I'll change my pic back to my stomach. I've had 2 babies and 14 surgeries for things related to the PCOS and endometriosis. I lift and run. Diet isn't perfect, but I'm 6' and holding at 152-155.
Getting a bit of abs, and the V is becoming more apparent. Pretty happy with the progress.1 -
I have PCOS. I only weigh in here on MFP on Sundays, but at home I weigh myself every day. Today I hit the over 60lbs lost goal. My love handles are almost completely gone now, my "fat apron" is greatly shrunken, my tummy is starting to flatten out, and I'm even daring to have hope that it will totally disappear once I've gotten to my weight goal. I never thought I could lose it all, but after surviving last week, which would have totally derailed me and sent me back into my old eating habits for good in the past, but didn't this time around, I believe that I'm in it for life now. I feel so empowered and motivated!!
So, at least for me, it turns out it is possible to lose any excess weight even though I have PCOS. It's not easy, and you know you can't spot reduce, but any excess weight you wish to get rid of will go away if you drop a few pounds. I would like to wish you the best of luck, and congratulate you on being lucky enough to not have the huge weight battle that I and so many other sufferers of this condition I've met have been dealing with. I envy you that aspect.
edited to add: I have had 5 children, each of their pregnancies I gained an enormous amount of weight, so I never expect to have a flat "I look like I'm still 20 years old" belly, but do expect to look great in a one piece bathing suit come summer time.1 -
@Junken_Diraff : Wow, you are tall! And that is really impressive. You are amazing!! You have a better belly, and I haven't even had kids yet. I'm 5'2'', @23 yrs old.0
