Tinnitus Because of Workout, pls advise

Hello there.
I've been hitting the gym for 2 months now (for body building) when I noticed a little ringing sound on my right ear. I've heard about an illness called tinnitus (a ringing noise in the ear that's only being heard by the sufferer). At first I thought I got it because I play in a band for a living and have been doing so for five years now, but then this is my first tinnitus experience. I tried stopping gigs and gym for a month and the ringing eventually disappeared. Recently when I went back to the gym for workout. A day after, it seems that the tinnitus went back, louder than usual. If any of you has the same condition as mine, are there any exercises that I need to avoid/ exercises that I can perform? Right now, I'd just want to tone specific areas of my body. Please advise.

Tinnitus is a SYMPTOM not an illness. And it means that something is going on with your ear. Unilateral tinnitus is much more indicative of a medical etiology than bilateral, so I would highly recommend you see a specialist to check this out, specifically a doctor specializing in disorders of the ear, like an ENT, and preferably one with an audiologist attached to them so you can get all the testing you might need, quickly and easily. Yes, noise may be the cause, but it might also be something like a perilymphatic fistula. There are myriad causes for tinnitus, and you need an etiology before recommendations can be made.
