Holy crap, I think I creeped someone out at the gym

So I have been going to my local Y one the regular for the last 11 months and have gotten to know most of the others people who work out on a similar schedule since I am always there at about the same time of day. There happens to be a retired cop, retired PD chief, a retired sailor, and a few current cops I work with. One of the guys is a retired cop who used to be one of my sergeants so he and I exchange pleasantries briefly between sets or before I plug in my earbuds and jump into the lifts.
Anyway...
There is this one woman who is also a regular on a similar workout schedule and she loves to work free-weights as well. Lately, it has been really weird because she is always in the same area as I am (small weight room area with fully mirrored walls) so there aren't very many places to look to avoid looking at someone.
On top of that, as a cop my head is constantly on a swivel so if something moves in my peripheral vision my head turns or at least my eyes shift. Unfortunately; it seems that often my eyes shift to her until I realize that the thing moving is just her then I can block it out. I am not there to look at women, I am there to do my workout and I frequently have my wife training with me. I've spoke to her once or twice but I don't know her name or anything in particular about her and that's fine with me.
I noticed once that she was giggling during her workout so I asked her if she was listening to something funny or what had her all a flutter and she told me she just loves to do her workout and sometimes just has to have a giggle while lifting etc. I thought it was strange but moved on with my day. Most of the people at the Y are cool about that kind of thing though, we make momentary conversation or share a one liner with each other then move on.
The problem is that it seems like every time my head is pointed in her direction she notices (whether I glance at her or am looking past her) and now I worry that she thinks I am watching her. To make matters worse; as I walked into the gym on Tuesday morning she was there near the entrance to the fitness center and I heard her friend ask her "is that the guy...and didn't hear the rest of her question, just kept on walking."
So now I am purposely making a concerted effort to avoid her gaze so that there's no way she could think I am watching her because I am afraid I accidentally did something to creep her out. Now I feel weirded out. My wife says she would have noticed if I was watching her when we were working out and she has seen no such thing and I don't have a thing for this woman or anything like that.
I guess I just don't know what to do now.
Just had to get that off my chest, sorry it's not more fitness related but what the hell.
Incidentally, my wife is squatting and deadlifting 135 now regularly at 5'2" and 106 pounds. Pound for pound as a percentage of body weight she is lifting more than I am right now. Wow that hurts to type out.
