That's really rude of you. No, I've been a huge fan of his since his Juniper days and I never missed any of his gigs here in Ireland. My favourite songs of his are NOT on 9 or O. So STFU.

    Rob Thomas
    Josh Ramsay

(You might need to Google those...)

On the same token, if anyone adds Justin Bieber I'm going to crawl through these computer screens and rip your ears off.

Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, John Prine, Dylan, Bowie, Cash, Lennon/McCartney, Brian Wilson, Plant/Paige

I'd like to add James Taylor and Jeff Buckley to this list.

Oh absolutely agree, don't know how I could have left them out to be honest but even if I hours to think about it I'd leave people out!

    For me, best ever:

Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Neil Young, Paul Simon, Lieber & Stoller, Bacharach & David, Jagger/Richards, Daltrey/Townsend, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Carole King, Rodgers/Edwards, Morrissey/Marr, Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, Plant/Page, Lucinda Williams, Gram Parsons, Pink Floyd, Fagen/Becker, Leonard Cohen.

Not the best ever but really bloody good:

Kate Bush, Shawn Colvin, Neil Finn, Vedder/Pearl Jam, Suzanne Vega, Patty Griffin, Mark Hollis, Peter Gabriel, Blue Nile, Adam Duritz/Counting Crows, Kurt Cobain, John/Taupin, Mark Knopfler, Jeff Tweedy/Wilco, Brian Wilson, Emmylou Harris, Mark Lanegan, Mark E Everett, Stipe/Buck/Berry/Mills, Eric Clapton, Richard Thompson, Robert Cray, BB King, Stummer/Jones, David Sylvian, The Band, Ryan Adams, James Grant. AIC. Grant-Lee Phillips, Matt Johnson. Bob Mould, Pixies, Warren Zevon, Kristin Hersh, Neil Peart/Rush.

OK, I'm getting carried away now. No doubt I'll have missed a few important ones. I know The Beatles, U2, etc. aren't there, just my opinion.

I thought we were doing song WRITERS.
I am seeing a lot of artists but only a few actual writers.

For me however, it would have to be Jack Johnson and, believe it or not, Eminem.

Jack because his songs tell a soothing story and Eminem because most of his stuff really does demand a lot of talent.

    1. Damien Rice is a musical/lyrical genius. I've only been lucky to see him once in the US.
    2. Dude is an *kitten*.

Given my post is directly above, thought I should reply. Everyone on my list is a writer, where the band have collectively written I have used the band name.

Richard Marx (if you aren't aware of songs he has written, not just for himself, google it. ) He even won a grammy for writing a song with Luther Vandross. I bet he has written more songs that you love than you realize! :)
