Ladies...IUD?

Hi ladies I currently have an IUD and have about a year and a half left. My concern is that I've been having severe nausea in the mornings for the last week and was just curious if any of you have experienced pregnancy while having one? I've heard that the closer you get to having to take it out your possibility for pregnancy goes up. Anyone with advice or experience with this?

Bailey, I don't have personal experience but have seen it. If you have a copper IUD the chance is <1% and if you have a hormonal one it is around 2% chance of unplanned pregnancy. Most women with an IUD don't have a regular period so it is hard to tell. If you continue to have symptoms of pregnancy - nausea, bloating, fatigue, headache, etc. I would take a HPT. Also, watch for side pains as ectopic pregnancy can be an issue for women with an IUD.0

I got pregnant 2 months after my Mirena expired. I work in an OB unit in the hospital and I have heard of women getting pregnant with an IUD. Better do a home preg test or go to dr just to be safe. Good Luck!!! :flowerforyou:0

Not from personal experience, but I have a friend who got pregnant with an IUD. In her case, the IUD did not implant correctly.0
