Can anyone recommend a good lifting programme/ book suitable for my husband? He's just starting to lift and I'd like to get him a present to help.
Thanks in advance

Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength. It's pretty much the very best launching point.0

I agree with Mark Rippetoe Starting Strength and then maybe move into Stronglifts 5x50

Jim Wendler's 5/3/10

That's a great program, but it's not really for a beginner.0 -

Why move into SL5x5 from SS? They're more or less the same; just SL starts with more volume and less and background information.0 -

Body sculpting bible for Men. I used the one for Women when I was starting out. I also Suggest Chalean Extreme. It's awesome I am doing it for my second time. It has men and women in it.

I had the same question, and think that both are good starting programs.0
