You can probably get a good deal on a house in Detroit.

Paid for our house in full... cost less than my fiance's used car. :ohwell:

    That said... DON'T COME HERE.

Where on LI have you lived? Being a fellow new yorker, I just love it here. Maybe you just haven't found the right city?

    - I have lived in Oceanside, Northport, Massapequa, Hicksville and now i am currently in Farmingdale which i like.
I would love to Live in Brooklyn tho.. but i cant afford that..
I guess I feel I am Stuck between my feeling of wanting to be in a city and my love for small town environment.

Now I see why you're restless! I would not be happy in those cities either lol I'm in Whitestone now and love it. Quiet neighborhood that's great when you actually wanna sleep in the city, yet a stone's throw away from all the action

That would be Fort Worth-Arlington... no lie... granted our mass transportation SUCKS majorly... :grumble: But we have the small town feeling, yet not so removed from culture...

I'm a bit of a nomad too.. love to move. I guess I have a restless spirit. My most recent move (2 years ago) was to Dallas, TX (woohooo 3 hours away from where I was before and where I am now) lol.. I wasn't so crazy about it then, but thinking about a move again.

Dallas is cool and lots to do.. hot in the summer though.

I was told that if I ever decided to move back to the Dallas area to move to Ft. Worth instead.. nicer... home-ier feel... so I'm thinkin' about it. :)

I've already moved to my dream city:

It's in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by farms and forests.

It's got 4 college campus areas, a billion bars, and a thriving local art scene.

There are tons of hippies, hipsters, artists, weirdos, and geeks.

It's not a city, but not a small town.

It's practically a dart-throw center of the United States.
    .
    .
    .
It was either here, Boulder, CO, or Portland OR

Hmmm...you are not far from where I live. But I don't think I would consider it my "dream city." Personally, I LOVE Panama City.

oh, gads, warrensburg! I used to drink underage there, like, a billion years ago. scary, scary place. my baby brother lives there now, rest his poor soul.

i heard a rumor that all the bars on the strip shut down. is this horror true? what in the world do you DO???

and aaross: you move here and you'll have a work-out buddy right away

HA! No, not true. It just seems that they change ownership a million times. One of the owners was murdered a couple months ago, which might be where your rumor came from also.
