How important are rest days?

I know that when you are working out a particular muscle group it is important that you don't work out the same muscles group everyday but for myself, I tend to do a lot of cardio and yoga, both of which work out the entire body. Do I still need to take rest days and if so how often?

    I would take at least one rest day per week, just to give your body a chance to recharge and heal. More if your body tells ya it needs it
  • You definitely need rest days. Just for your body to heal and get used to the work.

    I asked my brother (fitness fanatic) the same thing when I started working out. He told me not to go more than 4 days of working out in a row, max. That way you'll still be working out at least 5 days a week.
