HAVE I CHANGED AT ALL!?

I've lost 57 pounds in 13 months, but sometimes when i look in the mirror, I still see the same disgusting girl I used to be...

I am sure you have changed. Do your clothes fit better? Do you feel better? Has your cardio endurance improved? I am sure the answer to all these questions is yes, but You have to stop beating yourself up about what was and realize that you are no longer that person. The attitude you expressed in your post is the beginning of a journey you don't want to take. You have to start to see yourself differently or you will not feel better about yourself no matter how much weight you lose.

With that kind of weight loss, you definitely have changed! Stop looking in the mirror and zeroing in on what you hate. Look in the mirror and be proud of how far you've come. I realize that's easier said than done. That's an amazing loss! Be proud!

I still have that same issue...something that's helped me has definitely been taking measurements.

It's discouraging when you get on the scale and see the number barely move or stay the same, measuring helps by keeping your sanity. Keep visual track of your body on a monthly basis also helps.

    This is very normal :)

Most people on MFP who have lost alot of weight all say the same thing they still see themselves as they were. I am down 88 pounds and still have what I call "fat" moments. This last week I had a friend post pictures on facebook at my largest... and I was shocked! My husband pulled up two pictures of me (past/present) and I was able to see the difference side/side and boy has that changed my outlook on my body image :)!

You're not alone in that way of thinking...one of my friends put it best "your mind takes longer to catch up to your weight" It's so true! It's been years of looking and seeing the same thing, now, it's different so it'll take time. It took me awhile, I still don't always see it but will sometimes see it, stop and go wow, it IS worth it.
