breakfast

Hi Everyone,

So I read that breakfast is an important component of the day. So I added in some oatmeal and some yogurt as part of my routine and I gained four pounds this week. I'm not sure why this has happened. I stayed in my calorie zone and did the same exercise routine. Any thoughts?

Thank you
Katie

You'll hear it from both sides but I'm a proponent of the idea that eating at any time of day is fine. Breakfast does not "jump start" your metabolism, so unless you're hungry in the morning, you don't have to eat breakfast.

This. Meal timing means precisely nothing, as the IF crowd has proven time and again. Why do they do it? No damned clue, but it obviously isn't making any of them fat.

If you aren't hungry for breakfast don't eat it.

The weight gain won't be due to you adding in your breakfast unless it caused you to go really over your daily calories.

Weight changes all the time.. you could of experienced water weight gain if you increased your sodium/decreased you water, women tend to gain weight at certain points of their cycle, etc.
