Sort of off topic for weight loss, but I have thyroid issues and allergy issues. Thyroid numbers are good with medications but I have chronic low grade inflammation that causes my thyroid to swell ( no lifting, walking is my only exercise- doctor's orders).
Problem is yesterday my Endo signed off on me. Thyroid #'s are fine and wants me to go see an ENT instead. Sort of a which came first the chicken or the egg scenario. She is the second doctor to suggest to me that if I could take Advil for 6 months thing would be a lot better..but I have an allergy to Advil/ Nsaids etc. I will be doing the follow up with yet another specialist..but was hoping someone has an idea on a natural inflammatory?
I was thinking of Boswellia but I noticed a lot of the products marketed for weight loss ( grapeseed, green tea, berries etc- not the stimulants) are also labeled for inflammation.
Has anyone taken any of these and noticed an effect? ( ankle or knee not as sore- anti inflammatory effect)

I take a combo of cats claw, turmeric, ginger, and fish oil for my inflammation. I find this combo works well.0

There was a thread on anti inflammatory diets a couple of weeks ago and probably been others before that, did you run a search? Many foods or nutrients may have pro or anti inflammatory effects depending on quantities and combinations with other foods or nutrients, as can other lifestyle factors. Will they refer you to a registered dietician? IMO don't add herbal remedies or supplements without professional advice, given your health issues and medication.
Do you eat plenty of oily fish, low sugar fruits and non starchy vegetables? Do you consume added sugars, white refined/ high glycaemic index starchy carbs, oils rich in omega-6s? Do you take much caffeine, alcohol, smoke, have poor sleep patterns? Are you physically active, at least your 10,000 steps a day?0 -
No to fish/Shellfish/ green veggies ( allergies). I have done the dietican but for allergies. I won't take anything until I see my doctor on Tuesday but find it easier to go in with a list an ideas. No Alcohol, no smoking..I am in love with my coffee. I don't exercise but on work days go over the 10,000 and try to come close to it on my days off. Sleep sucks but directly related to the inflammation.0
