Can you smart people help me out?

Silly question...I am 25yrs old, height is 5'0 and currently weigh 125.7 (as of today). My ideal dream and goal is to get down between 115-120. I am eating 1,200 calories per day and since I work out almost everyday I eat back half or most of my calories usually by eating a lot of protein. My BMR is 1440. TDEE is 2232, and according to Scooby's calorie calculator my intake needed is 1785. I feel like that is too high for me.
So My question is: Is 1,200+ calories (depending on how much I burn I will eat that back if I am extremely hungry) a good calorie intake goal for me? Or should I stick to 1,700?
Any help or direction is greatly appreciated!!

You hsve just opened a can of worms! You will get answers from across the board. Here are my questions for you: How do you feel while eating at your BMR? Hungry, happy, tired, thirsty, etc? Are you more concerned with the number of the scale or body composition? Have you tried both methods? Are you looking for a quick loss or a long term goal? The most important question is: Are you still making a decision or looking to validate the decision you already made?
It is likely that people will quote studies and facts supporting both sides. Generally, when I've seen these types of posts the OP gives more weight to the facts that back up their original standpoint (whether VLCD, EM2WL or somewhere in between). Basically, we can tell you our opinions, experiences and advice, but there is no point if you've already made up your mind.
You'll probably get lots of great tips, hopefully it helps you out.0 -
Hey I'm about your size...I'm 5'1 and I'm at 128.4 (this morning yay)
I think that 1400 may have worked for a while (hey it worked for a several months for me too) but you're getting so close you should try 2 things...first go up to maintenance for a few weeks let your body get used to that and then cut again. i always saw people doing this and thought it was weird but over Christmas I changed my mindset and decided to make my goal "just don't gain!" lol which I did and I just went back to activel trying to lose and I've lost almost 2 pounds this month! So I think the break really helped me.
Second when you are ready to cut again don't go so low you're close to your goal so a smaller deficit will probably work better. I decided to eat 1500 a day which is about TDEE minus 15% for me (I'm older and I don't exercise every day like you do so my TDEE with exercise is only 1775 or so). You could easily eat 1700+ a day and still lose...I know it sounds liek too much but it's really not.0
