just wondering if I am over on sugars every day is this going to make a difference to my weight loss? I seem to be over by around -15 to -20 per day?

Calories are what matters. Don't worry about the sugar unless you've got a medical condition that requires you to limit it.

I have no "scientific" info to give you, but I can tell you that I'm over on sugar basically every single day of my life no matter what, and I've lost almost 30 lbs so far...

So I wouldn't worry about it too much. Definitely be paying attention to what KIND of sugar you're eating though. Things like high fructose corn syrup are not what you want to be consuming...however, fruit is very good :)

I'm always over on my sugars, too, and I'm a type 2 diabetic. My dietician thinks what I'm eating is fine. I find that one or two pieces of fruit in a day puts me over. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you're going to manage anything beyond your calories, manage your macros and not your micros...unless you have a medical reason to manage certain micros. I go over the sugar thing everyday and I'm at a fairly low carb macro setting...I don't worry about it because I stay within my macro goals.
  • I also go over on my sugars every day but I am eating healthy fruits and that puts me over. I am type 2 diabetic but have lost weight and was able to go off my medication. My blood sugar runs between 100 to 110 in the mornings so it doesn't seem to affect me.
