After dieting and exercising for 3 months I lost 2 and a half stone, I then took a one month break from the exercise to up my calories because I was eating WAY too few. Over Christmas I actually lost weight (only about 2lbs) without exercise and I was eating more. Since restarting the bike exercise and eating around 1400-1500 cals a day, I've lost almost half a stone in 24 days.

Did I actually lose fat that quickly? I'm a little confused as to what I've actually lost...

It's hard to say...it depends on how much you have to lose, could depend on how much water retention you had over the holidays, etc..

Either way, keep up the good work:)

It's hard to say.. while in a calorie deficit part of your losses will always be muscle. How much muscle depends on if you lift heavy weights, how big of a deficit you have and if you consume enough protein.

Body weight changes so often due to so many things so it's hard to say whether you lost fat, water or muscle... normally it is a combination of those three things.

You could be losing a bit more now since you are properly fueling your body. A lot of people have more success eating more than eating too little.

I don't lift weights at all, I don't have access to that kind of stuff. They only thing I have is an exercise bike.
I do try to cram as much protein in as I can, but I never manage to meet the amount I have on MFP.
