Strength training - how to start?

I have been doing cardio (running) and videos like Jillian Michael fat burn for a month. I want to introduce some strength training but not sure where to start or how to be most effective. `please advise

Just kidding. Get a personal trainer at the gym or join a class that does strength training.0

Try for 4x10 on squats, deadlifts, overhead press, and bench press to start. You'll need to feel out your own starting weights. Starting with an empty bar and working up from there is probably best.
After a week or so of that, (or whenever you feel comfortable with your form) I'd abandon the 4x10 format and move on to something better for actually building strength, like 5x5 or 10x3.0 -
