Just wondering if any of you have a hard time taking a "day off" when you are doing great with your exercise....I am trying to plan tomorrow as a day off, but thinking I will end up doing something anyway....Am I the only one?

Nope, you're not the only one. When I am on point, I love to ride the momentum for as long as I can. Helps to make those crappy lift days a bit more bearable.

I think days off are important for recovery, but if you're itching for a workout, do it. you'll rest when you need it. my days off are Thursday and Sunday but I might still walk a mile (and I do a couple of mini challenges here on mfp every day).

I totally agree. It's definately hard to take a day off when you have gained momentum, my suggestion is if you don't have to don't. Save those days for emergencies when you really can't fit a workout into your schedule. Nonetheless rest days are still important especially if you've over exerted yourself. I know I had to take many recovery days when I first started going to the gym. But exercise makes you feel so good. So I say go for it whenever you can!

Thanks...I do have days that I can't fit in exercise...Tomorrow may be one of them, but I still want to do something...even if it is a 20 minute bike ride on my stationary bike....lol

Some days my knees scream at me and I do NEED to take a day off...I guess at most, I exercise at least 6 days a week...at the bare minimum, 4 days a week.

I guess I am afraid if I take one day off, I will get lazy and take another and another...I also feel like I may gain if I stop....I know...I likely wont', but it is all in my mind...I know our bodies need SOME rest....Maybe I will take tomorrow off..

I know I feel lazy on my day off, but if you are training hard, your body needs it. Just 1 per week should be sufficient

I think I will aim for 1 day off per week....see how it goes the other 6 days....
