Ok so I need some opinions. I am in the process of making a baby blanket that needs to be done by tomorrow for a baby shower. in any case I got all the blocks embroidered now putting the pieces together. (its for a girl) In any case I am trying to decided if I should do just one shade a pink around all 4 sides of the block or two. In my profile pic you will see a block that currently has two sides done with one shade a pink. Also it is laying on top of the print that will go in between each block. If you click on me and look through my pics you will see another pic that shows what the backing will look like (the top is all cotton while the back is fleece. Please give me your opinion.....I know this has nothing to do with diet and exercise but I didn't want to post this on face book because then my in-laws might see what I am make for their baby and I would rather surprise them.

ok so if you look at the block with the sheep on it currently it only has one color on two of its sides. the other two sides is going to have solid color around it too before I put the print in between............so what I am asking is weather I should use the same solid color all the way around the block or do a lighter pink for the other two sides

Stick with the one colour around all 4 sides. JMO.

    agreed. one colour
  • It is hard to see on my iPad, but I think mix it up with lighter pink. Both ways would look good though.
Trust me, I have a BA in art and design

Hi, I think you should use the second shade of pink. Add more interest to the quilt. I think you could also alter the sides that the two different shades are on throughout the quilt. Hope that makes sense. I would love to see a photo of the finished quilt when you're done. Good luck finishing.

Same color would look awesome! How kind of you to make it, nothing like a homemade gift. I'd love to see you post the finished blanket as well.

I love soft color of the bear print, is that the fleece for the backing? If so, this is going to turn out great:wink:

Yes it is fleece for the backing. while you might not be able to tell the print that will go on the front in between the embroidered blocks have butterflys on them. (I didn't have many choices for pink where i went in regards to the print for in between so chose something girly.)
