Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has tried Stevia? I am particuarly interested in the individual packets (not the liquid) for coffee.
I've noticed there are quite a few brands including Natures Way and Stevia in the Raw. Has anyone found one they really like...that disolves well in coffee...with no licorice after taste?

Thanks!

I haven't had it in raw form, but I've had it in Zevia (diet soda with stevia) and it's delicious. You can't even tell that it's a diet drink ( I really hate the taste of diet soda, and I don't drink a lot anyways) But I'd be interested to hear what people think too.

I've tried "in the Raw", some generic store brand stevia, and Truvia. I've found Truvia to be the best tasting and least licorice flavored for tea and coffee. I've tried stevia on cereals and it just doesn't work out so well. Seems to be good w/ hot things not as good with cold things but that's just me.
  • I really like Sun crystals (stevia&pure cane sugar), its 5 cals per packet and dissolves nicely in drinks. For a long time I only liked sweet & low but I wanted to get away from that chemically stuff and out of all the natural sweetners out there Sun crystals is the only one I really like and i've tried them all.

I prefer truvia. It is made from the stevia plant, but its more like sugar with no calories. It isn't as strong or as bitter as stevia and it is perfect for fruit, coffee, oatmeal, etc. I like to heat it in the skillet with frozen fruit to make sauce for waffles.

I have had Sweet Leaf in the individual packets. I use Trader Joe's brand 100% pure stevia powder for things at home.

Truvia is not necessarily the same.. it is made in a lab. You want 100% pure Stevia... Truvia has bulking agents and other additivies...

Stevia has been used in countries around the world for over 1500 years - safely used. Think of stevia like oregano or basil. It is a plant that leaves a sweet taste.

I hate the after taste of Truvia. I only used it in coffee, but I absolutely hated it. It's whatever you like, I guess.
