This currently the "Best Seller" on Amazon right now and it's only $49.00. Not sure if it fits your needs or not but there are a lot to pick from under that price range.

CrockPot makes a really good one and it is only about $40-50. I LOVE mine, I use it all the time and for everything!!!! They sell them everywhere (WalMart, Target,etc)

Where can you find simple recipes?

Costco has a HUGE 7 qt with a smaller fonde style crock for around $50. We've had it for about a year and works perfect. Stainless too.

I second the Crock-Pot brand. I bought mine from Amazon about a year ago after my other Crock-Pot slow cooker died after 10 years of consistent use (1-2 times per week). I like mine because it can be set for up to 20 hours. Since most slow cookers tend to cook faster, and with my oh so lovely commute I'm away from home for 10-12 hours, I usually set everything to 20 hours and it's perfect by the time I get home.

www.skinnytaste.com has the best healthy slow cooker recipes. I've pretty much tried everything from that site.

I am also looking at getting a slow cooker...i am in New Zealand so the brands listed below won't be available here, so can someone please advise what features i should look for? Is the more $$$$ really any better? Thanks
