Sugar in MILK?

I just learned that there is sugar added in milk! I never knew that!
PLUS: There is MORE sugar added in 2% milk than regular whole milk! (12 grams in 2% and 11 grams in whole).
I always thought that milk was more or less 'natural' like eggs or whatever. This just totally surprised me.
No wonder my sugar calories are always too high!

Added? Most labels I see say "Ingredients: Pasteurized Milk, Vitamin D" or some such thing.
Of course, milk does naturally have sugar in it: lactose.0 -
it's not added, it's natural sugars...lactose
it would still be there straight from the cow0 -
