Arms of Steel DVD - review

I'd been looking for a "just arms" video. I have a gazillion cardio, cardio mixed with weights, all over body routines, but just wanted to settle in for now on JUST cardio on one day and arms and chest on the next, then alternate.
After looking all over the internet and reading review after review, the general opinion seemed to be that there is not much better than Arms of Steel, an old workout but available on DVD.
So off I went to Amazon and got my copy yesterday. I always watch things through the first time and fast forwarded through all the routines on this DVD to get my bearings. I can honestly say from what I have seen, this will be the most effective DVD for me EVER in terms of an all over arm and chest workout. There are 3 separate 10 minute routines if you are pressed for time, and then they are all strung together if you want to do all 30 minutes. There is also, unexpectedly, "regimens" that string 2 workouts together so you can easily alternate to stay fresh. Also unexpectedly, there is a short Abs of Steel workout, Yoga, slim thigh routine, slim arm routine, and probably a few other things in there that I am forgetting.
Its geared toward women using 3 - 5lb weights. Even though I'm fairly strong, I can tell you I will be starting with 3lb, because the all encompassing somewhat pilates like movements in some routines, if I do them properly, will be hitting tiny muscles I forgot I had, I can see that already.
I see no reason that men cannot use this DVD at home too, using heavier weights of course. You will probably also target muscles you forgot you had.
I use DVD's and VHS as I hate gyms, I don't need the social atmosphere, and its easier for me to focus at home and at odd hours. This workout is exactly what I was looking for, and then some. I can see why its still so popular and on the recommend list of many fitness review sites that I found.

You're welcome!
I just wanted to add that I was looking for something that would allow my lower body to rest. I bike my dog 2.5 miles, then do 10 miles myself on somedays, other days for cardio I like my low impact step routine and some others. ALL of them work my lower body. Its pretty difficult to get a cardo workout without using your lower body. And when my butt is sore, my butt is sore. But my upper body is unworked by many cardio workouts, or not worked in a way that develops real strength.
Hence this DVD.0 -
I did several of the "Steel" workouts back in the 90's when they were new and I have to say that Tammy Lee Webb was a great teacher. Her ab videos are still the best I've ever done. She teaches great form and breathing techniques to sculpt a six-pack.0

I have Abs and Arms of Steel. Goodwill stores are a great place to find these things, assuming you have a VHS player. Anyway, its a killer! (which means it works). Its a little fast moving for me though, I have to be careful with my discs. And I wanted something that skipped everything else and stuck to Arms.
I have cardio routines I like, pilates for core, just needed Arms to be talked through.
Keep forgetting to add that most of the actual arm exercises are done sitting or lying down.0 -

Thanks for the bump! I plan to do the 30 minutes tomorrow for the first time. May do the slim thigh with it. I just remembered it has a bit of bun of steel in there too. Will bike the dog for his 2.5 mile run. Sunday I will do my step aerobics.0
