welll done, You are a true inspiration to someone like me who is just starting out.
How often did you walk? Every day or just a few times a week?
Every day, started off at 30 minute walks and then increased to an hour when 30 minutes seemed too easy. Added some elliptical in when the weather started getting cold and I couldn't go any faster on my walks without changing over to running.
The thing that keeps me exercising is, instead of listening to music, I listen to audiobooks. They help keep me engaged and distracted, and if it's a particularly good/interesting book, the only way I'll know what will happen next is to keep up with the exercise. This probably doesn't work for everyone, but it has for me.

wow, athryn, you look spectacular. it's not just that you're thinner, but your shape look tighter and more athletic too. All that hiking must be good for your core and that elliptical must be good for your arms. all that consistency with your diet and daily exercise sure is paying off. I can see in your ticker that, as of a month later, you're down another 5 pounds from when you posted this. You are truly a MFP rock star!0

Awesome job! Thanks for sharing and giving inspiration My starting point is close to yours as well as my height. So far I have lost close to 20 lbs from high point in just a little less than a month. I am looking forward to looking and feeling better. I have noticed some difference already.0
