Weight fluctuation

I have been overweight my entire adult life. The largest I had gotten was 237 pounds about 6 years ago when I was 19. I moved away from home and started cooking and buying groceries for myself. I also started walking and working out with friends occasionally. About a year later I had lost weight and got to my smallest at 173. Then.. I got a new job where I work in an office and literally sit down for at least 8 hours a day not including days I go to class after work. My new sedimentary life style and not to mention candy and potlucks and everything else that comes along with this job has gotten me back to 209. I nearly cried when I found out I had let myself get over 200 pounds again. I'm not making excuses any longer though. For the past month I have been watching what I eat and working out 5 to 6 days a week in the gym. I'm learning more about strength training and hopefully this time I can get to my goal weight and keep it off. My weight has fluctuated my whole life and I'm sick of it. I want to be at a healthy weight for me. My weight had dropped to 201 but it's back to 209 today. I don't understand but I'm trying not to get discouraged. I know that weight is just a number and I should start taking measurements as well.
