calories for recipes

Trying to enter recipes of meals I cook often. When I add an ingredient I get choices that often don't work (only choice is 1/4 cup of something, eveh though I used 3 tbls. ) Also, calorie count seems to be WAY off (really high). For example, 1 entered 1 cup of fresh strawberries and got a calorie count of 300 - but an online search had the calorie count well less than 100. How do I get this corrected? I've been using LoseIt app and it's real easy to add my recipes but I was told this app would work better for my new FitBit One tracker.
