BMR + CALORIE INTAKE

I have a question

I calculated my BMR on http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/

and using the sedentary activity level, my BMR is 2070.

If i take my (BMR) 2070 - 1200 (DAILY INTAKE) = 870 DIFFERENCE

Now if i take 870 (difference) x 7 (days) = 6090 cals

Wouldn't 6090 (cals) divided by 3500 (that equals to 1 pound) = 1.7 lbs weekly ?

Note: I'm just trying to calculate it that way and eat back my exercise calories when I do.

Is my whole concept wrong?

Provided you actually meant the 2070 is your TDEE and not BMR, then yes. Was it actually 1725 or so for your BMR?

Also, be careful about calling yourself sedentary - Any chance you are a student (looked at your age)? If you are and doing a lot of walking, your actual calories burned may be at a higher level than sedentary. And remember that weight loss is not linear - there may be some weeks you will lose less or perhaps even gain a little bit.

I'm sure there will be others that will chime in - I didn't want your post to get lost as it had been a few hours since your posted.

    A few things
    1. That calculator you linked to takes a current weight and goal weight and calculates a daily intake for you based on that goal. weight. If you are indeed sedentary, then eat the 2070 it's giving you, and you will reach your goal.
    2. The numbers in that table with Sedentary, Lightly Active, etc, are TDEE numbers; not BMR. Your BMR is easy to miss and is at the end of the paragraph labeled "Harris-Benedict Formula"

Are you REALLY sedentary? If so, you should start exercising. You will feel better, and it will be easier to achieve a calorie deficit.

Important to note both your TDEE and BMR and never east below your BMR. It is generally recommended to eat about 500 calories below your TDEE assuming this isn't below your BMR.
