I have been thinking about buying some snack bars to incorporate into my snacks once in a while and to hold me over when I am not near home or near a friendly restaurant.
.
Which are the best snack bars to try that are nutritious without a lot of additives, taste great, and are cost friendly? I tend to like chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel with traditional candy bars.

Thanks.

I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I love Lara Bars. They are basically dried fruits and nuts ground up with some spices added in. I love them! I buy them on sale so they are not too costly, and they do not have preservatives in them.

I love the equate (walmart brand) fiber one bars. They have oats and chocolate and oats and peanut butter. i like the chocolate ones better. They are pretty cheap too like $2. Fiber one (this time it's not the generic) brownies are really good too. They are like 90 calories. You can get a pretty big box at sam's club because they are not as cheap. Happy snacking!

You can make your own and they won't have as much processed junk in them and be way cheaper.

Making my own is an interesting idea. Anyone have any recipes for doing this?

I really like the Peanut Butter & Oat bars from Trader Joe's (chewy), and also the Nature Valley Oats & Dark Chocolate (crunchy).
