CANNOT stop eating junk!

I am usually super good, and eat only a little junk, but for all of January, i cannot control myself. I lost 5 pounds over christmas, and since then gained close to 10!!! I think some of it is muscle because i have been lifting a lot and am getting stronger but still. I keep eating cookies, crackers, brownies. Literally have 0 self control and it is really annoying. I seek out the cookies in the house, or the ritz crackers, and if someone at school brings brownie's or something i will have more than one helping. I dont know what is wrong with me i am usually very good. Any tips or advice? I dont necesarily need to eat less, it's that i need to eat less junk and more healthy food. I love fruits, vegetables, meat, yogurt. It isnt that i don't like healthy food, i've just been craving things with chocolate, especially dark chocolate, or thin mints, mounds, it's really bad. Has anyone gone through this?

I have gone through that. For me, it was not using any self control and add to the fact the more sugar you eat the more you want. Literally I had to force myself to stop, and then I was able to be more normal about the sweets.

Get Fiber One bars. Make this your sweet treat. Believe me when I say your lesson will be learned if you eat more than 1-2 per day.

Oh have we all been there! I broke my junk habit by using chop sticks to eat whatever it was. I would cut the cookie up, put it on a plate, sit at the table and eat it with chop sticks. I do this when I need to retrain myself to stop eating fast or when I am eating a small portion of some really really great homemade mac & cheese. Sometimes I will do this with popcorn if I feel myself just shoving it in my mouth without thinking.

Do you have any control over what foods come into the house? I had to put a full trade embargo on several foods in the beginning - chocolate being one of them. Didn't take long of eating at other places before I felt comfortable bringing them back into my own cupboards, but being able to not have them RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF ME was a big help.
  • I do not have control over the junk that comes into the house, because my mom and others like things and they are not on as big of a "health kick" as me because they are not athletes :0

Are you getting enough carbs throughout the day, and eating most of your calories?

This is an excellent idea! I, however, can eat rice with chop sticks fairly impressively, so this wouldn't work for me, but ooooooohhhhh!!!! I should totally make my 7 year old eat cookies like this!!!

Excellent point! If I see it, I will eat it! Lol. I have a husband n three kids, so if I buy stuff for them, I try to make sure it's stuff I'm not crazy about. Plus, if I do bring stuff in the house that I do love, I make sure n keep it out of my site. If I get an occasional treat for all of us, like say someone's birthday n we have a cake, I try to get a small enough one so we don't have tons of leftovers, then I tell them they better eat it now, cuz it's going in the garbage in the morning!
  • Yeah i have been eating more than enough carbs and calories, trust me.
