It seems to me that one reason we have so much trouble with getting accurate information is that we need to brush up on scientific facts.
Muscle is *more dense* than fat.
Calories are units of energy.
When referring to dietary calories, we are actually using units of kilo calories. (Ok, not as important)
Proteins and carbs have the same number of calories per gram (4).
Most foods have proteins, carbs and fats in them.
BMR is the calories your body burns just to exist. It applies even when you are sleeping.
What else do we need to know - basic scientific facts that will help us understand the information out there.
