Desk job + foot pedaler = possible extra calories burned?

So I have a desk job so I'm sedentary most of the day. I was thinking about bringing in a foot pedaler to get in a little extra exercise throughout the day. Not sure how many calories this would burn but...any thoughts? Anyone else use one?

Great idea It's one of those things where it's not gonna burn 19 000 calories, but over time it'll add up to a better fitness level (similar to parking your car a few blocks away from your office building or taking the stairs instead of the elavator). I don't use one, but that's because I'm too scraped for cash right now :P Not really sure how many calories you could expect to burn, it'll depends on a bunch of things. But at the top of my head, if you used it about 10 minutes out of every hour, and you have an 8 hour work day, maybe 150 - 200 calories? Imagine you'd be burning about the same as if you were walking.

Thanks. And you know they are pretty budget friendly. Walmart has a couple under $20 so figured it was worth a shot. I'm not looking to.burn major calories with it but every little bit helps right? Lol! Thanks again for your input!0

It sounds silly, but is a good idea. I am is a similar boat where I when I am working projects it isn't uncommon to get up and move too much for hours and hours. Other days I walk for miles (I am an operations manager for a very large distribution center). I may need to look at Wal-Mart today to see if I can find something! It's got to be better than sitting on my feet...literally0

Silly or not I'm gonna do it lol. And who knows, I work in a building with a whole lot of weight conscious women...I may start a trend lol. As I see why waste that whole 8 hours burning no calories when I can do this and at least be a little productive.0

i, too, have a desk job...i bought one last year and it worked pretty well...they do work very well especially if your breaks throughout the day are limited as mine are...i believe you can also google desk exercises too and find a few more things nothing major though but hope it helps0

If you want to do it, it's never going to be a bad thing. However personally, I would save the energy at work and then go and do a normal workout either before or after instead.0

Googling desk exercises is a good idea thanks. And I do workout before and after work just figured this would be a way to keep the burn going.0
