I only started working out yesterday and I'm doing the 30 day shred and I've been pretty inactive before that.
Now,when I do some of the exercises,I hear something that sounds like my bones are cracking.
What is that, why is it happening and is it normal?

I have very cracky bones, makes my husband cringe as sometimes it is very loud. I'm not 100% sure but think I heard something about air in a joint been forced out by the movement, so it's not actually the bone that cracks its just air getting forced out.
Even as I have lost weight and exercised more I still get the cracking but i am not in any pain with it so carry on.0 -
At my age you also begin to have creaking sounds :laugh:0

I had cracking and popping in my knees several years ago, went to a specialist and he described it as the cartilage between the joints rubbing against each other. It was from over extending my knees when I bent over. Make sure you are using proper form during your exercising ie: knees don't extend past your toes, keep a straight back..... I wore a brace for a month and helped a lot. If it starts to cause pain or discomfort, see your dr!0

It's usually just gas bubbles in your joints popping. My knees make horrible noises when I crouch down, always have. If there's no pain associated don't worry about it.0

I always had cracking sounds especially if I did squats my Dr told me to take cod liver oil and it greases the joints, I can't drink the stuff but it comes in a capsule too, it took about a week and it worked0

most of my joints crack and crunch when i move them, particularly wrists, knees and ankles. sometimes painful and ache- particularly in the cold. been to docs and they don't know what it is- thought it was arthritis at one point and the anti- inflamatories nearly killed me within 2 doses.
i rarely remember to take cod liver oil but i find it does help. they actually seem to have got better with more exercise and the only real thing i struggle with is lunges- i can't walk properly for almost a week if i do them ( for instance in a pump class) so i do squats which suit me better.
hope yours don't give you too much aggrivation.0
