Well, I suggested it, so I am going to start a list. Submit your "fad diet" gimmick here. Identify it by its name and give a little description of what it is and how you know it doesn't work.

USANA - a "reset" and "detox" diet. You are required to drink all these liquids and take vitamins, while avoiding all carbs and sugar. Also, exercise is off limits or restricted at the start.
PROS: rapid weight loss IF followed (due to calorie deprivation), person does not have to exercise
CONS: calorie restriction, expensive products to purchase.

General comments: an obese friend of mine tried it, lost 15 lbs in three weeks, then got tired of the strict guidelines. Started cheating on this diet almost immediately, and gained the weight back quickly. Has since given it up.
