A question about aching muscles...

Is it possible for your muscles to ache when you've NOT done any exercise?

I've not been to the gym this week due partially to not enough time in the morning and laziness in the evening, but I've woken up this morning with my butt aching, like I did some pretty strenuous exercises for my gluts yesterday! Was I clenching them throughout the night?!?

I do have a cold, and yesterday evening, I went to be feeling very tired and drained, could this be attributed to my aches? On top of that, my lower back has started hurting too now.

Any doctors out there with a possible explanation?

I'm no doctor, but I work in hospital admissions and sit for long periods of time without walking around...and my butt, knees, and ankles ACHE. once I started working out...it stopped!

Get moving! It will help. Stretch well, too! However, it could be flu symptoms...body aches are no good!

I've had Influenza A this past week and I think even my teeth hurt. It may just be part of the cold you have.

I went from being a stay at home mom (which was much more active than the name implies) to working a desk job. When I work, my back, legs, and arms all ACHE because they aren't moved as much. I've found ways around it (standing when I can, walking during breaks, etc) but man! Just sitting still for a few hours a day is killer! Doing yoga every night has helped me immensely.
