How do I up my calorie intake safely?

Hey... So a little over a week ago, I did something stupid(but personally I deem it necessary). I fasted for about 4 days drinking nothing but water.
I just forgot to eat one day, and I didn't crave food. So the next day I decided to experiment and see what a fast does to me. The first 2 days I had these weird mental states of feeling high. Next two days I crashed quite a bit. So on day 4 i decided it was time to end it, and followed to recommended advice to slowly build up the calorie intake... I started by drinking only fruit juices one day.. about 400 cals. Then the next I did the same and added a little piece of salmon(just felt like having it). Then I moved to other substantial food like veggies and such... I just upped my intake to 600.
But I dunno if its even necessary to restrict the calorie intake. I don't know how badly 4 days of fasting screws up the metabolism, and my goal is to do as little damage as possible. Maybe it didn't crash at all, and I'm crashing it now by foolishly believing that I'm doing the right thing by upping the intake slowly?
My fear is that if I eat more calories too fast, Ill gain weight due to starvation mode. So I'm asking people here for advice on eloquently solving this problem.
My goal is to be healthy and eat the proper amount of food i need.
I didn't starve myself due to anorexia or anything I just got tired of food controlling me. Specially the evils of delicious sugar. I fasted because I desperately felt like I needed to reboot my mental state regarding this. Before Id desperately crave buying snacks and sugar yummies and cake and whatnot. So I can say one thing. The fast really did help. I gained a new appreciation of food during the fast that I am going to take advantage of. I no longer crave unhealthy foods, and I am looking to completely do an overhaul on my food habits(for good). So advice on that would be great too.. Like what food do you guys eat that is both yummy and nutritional. And lastly, does anyone know any good types of deserts that don't require added sugar?
Thanks to anyone who may answer this post. Looking forward to any advice(And inevitable scolding for stupidly going on a fast )

I don't think 4 days will have done much damage to your metabolism, I've done worse when I've been too ill to eat.
Work out your calorie goal using http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12
and start eating to your goal, you may see a little increase for a week or two while your body adjusts but then the weight will start to come off :flowerforyou:0 -
Thank you for your reply, Faye
Maybe you're right.... I guess I can eat more normally >_< But I still think going for the end goal too fast is a bit much(but you inspired me to go for my goal much quicker )
Another strange thing is, despite eating so little, I don't feel hungry at all. I just usually listen to what my body wants. I drink a bit of juice, or eat some fruit of some veggies... And my body is fine. Today I ate more than I thought I would because I listened to what my body wants. But I don't get hunger pangs or anything, and generally my mood is a lot better than its been in ages. Is that normal for people who restrict their calories? I mean... I used to feel a lot more hungry on my normal diet(Which wasn't really healthy to begin with).0
