It's really just a mental thing. I mean you've asked people to answer the unanswerable. I'm 20 years old, 5'5 and my weight crept up to 216lbs. I didn't care. I pretended I didn't notice. Clothes were getting bigger but I wasn't embarrassed. Then things became a little rocky in my life, I began to make a lot of changes. I realised how fat I'd become and how much I disgusted myself. My partner is less physically attracted to me through no fault of his own. I let my body, a gift, be wasted. I just let everything go to rot. So one day I just looked at myself and said 'no more'. I decided to wake up to the reality of my situation and lose 95lbs. 3 weeks in and I've lost 6lbs, it's small but it's a start.

Now as far as food self discipline goes; I find MFP really helps here. DO NOT go over your calorie goal. Put that idea in your head, accept it as a fact that your allowance is all your going to eat that day, make yourself plan accordingly. If you want to eat more, your going to need to exercise more. My allowance is 1,200. If I wanna eat more, I make sure to work my *kitten* off so I can eat another couple of hundred calories. Look at your nutrients. Try and balance everything day by day. The more knowledgable you become about what your putting into your body the more focused you will become.

As far as exercise, well. This is a tough one even for me. One thing that helps me is (for any exercise that permits it) to maintain constant eye contact with myself. It sounds totally creepy but when I sweep my eyes over this body and see everything jiggle it pushes me to work twice as hard. I don't wanna be a Homer Simpson type anymore.

Also. Choose from your wardrobe or buy a beautiful top and trousers you really want to wear. I choose a metallic gold scalloped evening top (it fits but by God do I make it look ugly) & a pair of silk oriental print trousers which I cannot even fit my damn ankle into at the moment.

Also, before you think I'm sort of calorie nazi. If you do go over your calories, the way I see it, so what? It's one day. Your a human, not a robot. Don't go beating yourself up EVERYTIME you fall, just pick yourself up, dust off and walk on with your head held high. You owe this weight loss to no one but yourself. Remind yourself daily why you are doing this. Why it's important. Remind yourself that you deserve to feel beautiful too.

Oh, and I found taking my 'before' pictures now really help. The shot of me topless from the back actually makes me gag and I feel sickened I'm walking around looking like a shapeless lump of nothing. I don't even look human the way my fat had distributed itself on my back, an viewing that daily really strengthens my resolve to eat well and in moderation to to work my *kitten* off!!

Feel free to add me if you want to talk anymore, I have loads of other 'odd' little things I do for weight loss & I like to help motivate and support others in their journey! Good luck lady! xxx
