Calories per mile

Any opinions on how many calories per mile a 150 pound person burns running. Many of yu have said that MFP overestimates, but it's pretty much in line with what the treadmill says. Do we think they are both overestimating, and if so, by how much? What is the truth?
I have also heard contrary reports on cals / mile walking vs. running. Some say it's the same while others say running burns more. Thoughts?

The average is 100 calories per mile. That is average. For women its usually lower, for men, a little over. I find that MFP is pretty accurate for running estimates. It tends to be more off for things like circuit training and such as it is hard to estimate.
Here is an article from Runners World about running vs walking but it explains calories burned during running and gives a formula to estimate
