When you have about 300 calories left, but you are at your limit for carbs & fat. ? Need some ideas other than celery.

I only use macros as a guideline. If I am at max for one or all but still have a meal left, I don't worry about. Especially if it doesn't happen very often.
  • Cucumbers and hummus! Or a fruit and nonfat Greek yogurt. A spinach and arugula salad with craisins and raspberry vinaigrette.

I've read a few articles recently and all of them say it's calories that matter. Now, that being said, I try to stay within my fat/carb guideline but wouldn't stress so much if I went over.

Two Sunkist tuna packets or 4 oz of chicken breast, but I would probably add a piece of fruit with it. It is okay to go over as long as it is within reason since you need to eat the calories.

Isolate is just a more pure form of whey protein, it contains more protein with less fat and lactose. Typically about 20% more protein than a concentrated versions of whey protein. It comes down to the processing of the raw whey and what is filtered through when it is processed.

That said- eat something that is going to satisfy you if you are hungry. 300 calories is quite a bit really and I wouldn't worry too much about the other macros for one little snack.

I think I'll pick up some of that whey tomorrow. sounds so good. The protein powder I use now has some fat - so it would be nice to have a cleaner option. Can anyone recommend a favorite brand?

Natures best Isopure dutch chocolate from GNC. Low carb. Good stuff, I was drinking it with ice, pb & frozen banana then one day tried it on its own, BAM, no need to mix anything else in-tastes just like chocolate milk ! I even put it in my coffee in the morning before I work out instead of creamer.
