okay so i already put this on my blog (its verbatim)... but i would like to know what other people think and know, especially those who have fitbits....?

so basically, my goals for the day are as followed:

10,000 Steps:
10 Floors:
5 Miles:
2,500 Calories Burned:

....i'm confused because when i do complete burning 2500 calories for the day, mfp and the fitbit site tell me that i can eat like 1800 calories.... which to me seems like alot? but if i am working out for each day for 3; 1 1/2- 2 hours at a tim... would that cover it?

i'm just wanting to make sure that these little techy thingys are making me think i understand what they are saying when actually i'm just screwing myself... and running 11 miles a day....

like today my achievements were:

Steps: 20,983
Floors climbed: 18
Miles: 10.46
Calories burned: 2782

with 1752 calories consumed... and the last like 800 calories i kinda forced myself to eat... because i really needed to get it up because my net was at 9, which is beyond stupid.... but i want to make sure i'm reading all this right....

with this, i want to make sure that i'm not making myself eat calories that i dont need, and i KNOW that eating at 8 at night is a really bad idea, but i really didnt realize how low my net calories had come to for the day, especially once i hit my 2500 calories burned goal.

ideas?
opinions?

this shouldnt be so difficult...

Why is eating at 8pm really bad, again? I sometimes eat 1/2 of my claories after 5pm.

I don't fully trust activity trackers becuse I haven't found one that accounts for TDEE. That is, while you're taking steps (walking?) you're burning some additional calories, but some of those calories you would have burned just laying in bed.

Instead, I use runners world's formulas to calculate actual calores burned.

    Running: .63 x weight x miles
    Walking: .30 x weight x miles
    Source: http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning-0?page=single

I am really trying to be helpful but you lost me a bit. Please clarify if you're asking something else.

Edit: the best way to get an accurate burn count is with a heart rate monitor.

I can only comment on the time of day issue. Someone said that calories don't know what time it is, and I agree.
