What's up with the beach body coaches?

Anytime on here or on twitter I post about P90x I get a response about great job, followed by questions. Then asking if I have a beach body coach and if I want it to join a private group. What are these groups? I'm assuming its to get you to buy stuff but just wondering. They are popping up everywhere!!
