I have been doing MFP for almost 4 weeks now and have been under my calorie goal every day except yesturday. And yesturday I BLEW IT! We went out for supper with friends and I had no self contol.....had delicious potatos, steak, shrimp and dessert with drinks! it was fabulous at the time but I actually woke up thinking about my failure. I feel like its is going to hinder my progress that I have been making. I was so proud of myself for working so hard and this feels like a major set back. How do people recover from these set backs?

Just pick up where you were before...don't allow this to be what stops you from being a healthier you! I have done this wayyyy to many times in the past and it's just plain stupid. One bad day doesn't stop you from being healthy, many bad days do. I didn't exercise one day this week and went over my calorie goal. Times past I would have just said F it and had a bag of peanut m and m's but this time I didn't. I said I'll just get back on track tomorrow and that's what I did. So, today is a new day, watch your calories and exercise and pick up and do even better from where you were. If I can do it, so can you!!

This is NOT a setback! You were living and guess what? That is going to happen! I'm sure you are doing fine. I'm sure you are still on track, otherwise you wouldn't feel so badly about your intake from yesterday. Most important thing you can take from this whole episode? Give yourself a break!

Log everything and get right back on track with your plan. A few indulgent meals a year are good for the soul. You won't derail your progress unless you give up.

Most of us fall off the wagon at some point. All we can do is pick ourselves up, and get back on the wagon!
