Hate that scale

Why it is so hard to reprogram our thinking about that dang scale? I mean I SEE my body is changing, I feel my clothes getting looser but that scale hates me!
I have tried the "measure yourself" method but I'm not sure how accurate that is either? I mean how do you know you have the tape measure in the exact spot each time, how do you know if you have the tape the exact same tightness each time?
Every time I get on that scale and it doesn't move, it sure gets discouraging but it's NOT going to keep me from continuing with what I'm doing.
Too bad we don't have a ctrl/alt/delete for our minds
