Question about ground beef?

Okay, when it comes to ground beef, I have no clue how to measure it.
I have left over traditional ground beef to cook. I'm broke this week and it's all I have.
I have no clue how to measure it, considering you can crumble it up into different sizes so you can't really be sure how much is in a cup. Unless that doesn't matter?
Idk, it's confusing.

Most accurate would be to weigh it. If you're weighing, measuring after cooking, you'll end up with about a 20 to 30% reduction. I.e. 6 oz raw is approx = to 4.5 oz cooked.0

Glad I did a search on this before asking.
I just cooked 16 ounces of 93% lean ground beef. I measured it after cooking and draining the fat. It came out to a little over 12 ounces. That's a lot! So I have adjusted the recipe I was using it in.0
