How's it going?! I'm Jon.
I am here to get a hold of my diet. I have been yo-yoing for a few years now. I was about 185-195# my senior year in college (2004) when I tore my Plantar Fascia and had to stop working out and playing lacrosse for about 3 months while I was in a boot. Since I missed the end of my senior season I sort of never got back to the gym when the boot came off.
Fast forward a few years I was 240# and just uncomfortable. I had moved to Colorado for work and I felt like I couldn't enjoy my surroundings because of my weight. I began playing lacrosse again in men's leagues and I joined a gym and got a trainer. I dropped back down to about 195# but I was weak because I had been focusing on cardio mostly. I began to focus on strength (my preferred way to workout). I put on some decent muscle using a 5x5 program. But then I tore my meniscus in my left knee and needed surgery. I had that surgery in May 2010. and had a rough recovery, I tried to keep my gym routine up but eventually laziness won out and I got fat again. I hit 240# again before I decided to get back in the gym. I have been in the gym fairly regularly since September 2012. As of the beginning of this year I am using the 5/3/1 Program to rebuild strength and shore up a few week points. I plan to start working on cardio again in a few months but right now I am trying work out some of the kinks and build my strength base back up.
Diet is my biggest struggle because I am a busy person and often times I just don't feel like cooking for myself when I get home and I wind up eating some crappy fast food or something.
I have various strength goals that I am striving for but I also would like to lose about 40# to put me back around the 195-200 range with a body fat % of 10-12.
Anyways, that's my story.
