Who wants to place bets on whether or not I boil up the regular ones after we taste it?

Depends on the brand you try. Alce Nero is the best. You can't get it in most grocers, though. I know whole foods carries it, but unless you have one close, it isn't worth it to hunt it down.

I like wheat pasta. I HATE brown rice pasta. My husband made me eat that nastiness one night for dinner. The fact that the box said "not slippery" should have been a cue that it was slippery and maybe even slimy.

But wheat pasta holds on to robust sauces pretty nicely.

I'm probably trying it out on the wrong night. I'm using jarred sauce. No meat :0

I like wheat pasta, some people don't like the texture but the bite is what I like about it.

I like the Barilla Plus, as it tastes fairly close to normal pasta.

Being that I grew up in an Italian household, I'm a bit of a pasta snob. A few months back I went out and bought about 4 or 5 different brands of whole wheat pasta to try. I cooked up a sample of each kind and my wife and I did a taste test. The only one we thought was palatable was called Misura, and I admit it was pretty good. The others were bad to awful. Not sure if you can find that brand where you live though ( we're in Canada).

Give it a serious try. You're psyching yourself out already!! It was strange but not bad the first time I cooked it. It takes longer to get a softer texture. But now I never eat anything else.

Give quinoa pasta a try. My husband is a super picky eater (only eats regular pasta) and he ate it without realizing it was quinoa pasta.
