Morning All,

I have been sticking to my roughly 1.2 kg loss a week - however this week according to my scales - which have moved locations - as i moved i have lost 2.2kg as an estimate - i say it is only an estimate because i stepped on initally (in the same clothes as always) and weighed 104.8 then thought thats to high weighed again and was 105.8 thought a kg difference seems a lot and stepped on and got 105 exactly, i then calculated the average of the 3 weights.

However my question is - what could cause my scales to fluctuate so much? should i trust my previous weights? have i really lost any weight at all? and finally is it best now knowing this to take calculate an average as above? or invest in some new scales?

wow, ok more than one question, but yeah opinions please :P oh also - based on posts on monday - could stress cause rapid weight loss?

Scales can show different weights according to the floor surface they are on e.g. carpet vs tiles as they are not even. I have found my digital scales more accurate than others. Also as you will appreciate different clothes will weigh different weights so that will vary the weight shown as well. My best advice is to weigh yourself no more than once a day and ideally once a week at the same time in the same weight clothes (or none at all!) Choose where you scales will live and don't move them around, I have put mine on some wooden board to ensure they are always level.

Good luck with your weight loss journey :)

Stress has different side effects for everyone. Some will gain weight, others lose. It really all depends upon what your body does.
